Warranty terms
These Warranty Terms apply to products sold by Separett AB through Separett’s online store, unless product-specific warranty terms state otherwise.
A Separett warranty is a voluntary commercial warranty provided in addition to your statutory rights. It does not replace, limit or reduce any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.
1. Statutory rights
Consumers have statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law. These rights apply regardless of whether a commercial warranty is provided.
A commercial warranty is an additional commitment from Separett that may give you rights beyond those required by law if the product does not function as promised during the warranty period.
Nothing in these Warranty Terms limits your statutory rights if a product is defective, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the purchase agreement.
2. Warranty provider
The warranty is provided by:
Separett AB
Svetsgatan 1
SE-333 93 Skeppshult
Sweden
Email: info@separett.com
Telephone: +46 (0)370 307 200
3. Products covered by the warranty
These Warranty Terms apply to new Separett products purchased from Separett AB or from an authorised Separett reseller, unless otherwise stated.
The warranty applies only to the original product and starts from the original delivery date or purchase date, as confirmed by a valid receipt, invoice or order confirmation.
The warranty does not apply to products purchased second-hand, products sold as used, products sold as refurbished, products sold as display items unless expressly agreed, or products that cannot be verified with valid proof of purchase.
4. Warranty periods
The warranty period depends on the product.
For consumers, Separett products may have a warranty period of 1 to 5 years, depending on the product. Please see the warranty period stated for your specific product, product manual, product page or purchase documentation.
For urine-diverting toilets, such as Villa models, the product may be covered by a 5-year warranty when purchased and used by a consumer for normal private use, unless otherwise stated in the product-specific warranty terms.
For incinerating toilets, such as Nova models, the product may be covered by a 5-year warranty when purchased and used by a consumer for normal private use, unless otherwise stated in the product-specific warranty terms.
For incinerating toilets, the following component-specific warranty periods apply unless otherwise stated:
Heating element: 1 year
Ash container: 2 years
Temperature sensor: 2 years
For spare parts, the warranty period is 6 months from the original delivery date, unless otherwise stated.
If the product is used in commercial operations, the warranty period is 1 year from the original delivery date, regardless of product type.
No warranty applies if the product has been used in any form of rental operation.
5. Conditions for warranty coverage
Warranty coverage applies only if all of the following conditions are met:
- The product has been installed, assembled, used, serviced and maintained correctly in accordance with Separett’s manuals, instructions, specifications and intended area of use.
- The product has been used with normal care and has not been used more intensively than is compatible with Separett’s recommendations.
- The product has not been modified, repaired or serviced by an unauthorised person where such work has caused or contributed to the fault.
- Only original Separett parts and approved accessories have been used where required.
- The customer has stopped using the product after discovering a fault if continued use could worsen the damage or create additional issues.
- The warranty claim has been submitted within a reasonable time after the fault was discovered.
- A valid proof of purchase is provided.
- The installation and the reported fault are documented with clear photos, videos or other material requested by Separett.
- All information provided in the warranty claim is accurate and complete.
6. How to make a warranty claim
To make a warranty claim, please follow the correct process for your product type.
For incinerating toilets, please fill in a fault report through the fault report form on our website.
For all other products, please contact Separett customer service by email:
Email: info@separett.com
Please include:
- order number, receipt or invoice
- product model and, if available, serial number
- delivery date or purchase date
- your name, address, email and telephone number
- a clear description of the fault
- photos or videos showing the product, installation and fault
- any error code shown by the product, where applicable
- information about how the product has been installed, used and maintained.
Separett may request additional information before assessing the claim.
Incomplete claims may take longer to process. If the requested information is not provided, Separett may be unable to approve the warranty claim.
7. Separett’s assessment
Separett reserves the right to make a professional assessment of whether a fault is covered by the warranty.
This assessment may be based on the information provided by the customer, photos, videos, troubleshooting, remote support, inspection by Separett, inspection by an authorised service partner or inspection of the returned product.
A product or part must not be returned before Separett has provided return or service instructions.
8. What Separett may provide under warranty
If Separett confirms that a fault is covered by the warranty, Separett will decide the appropriate warranty remedy.
The remedy may include troubleshooting support, replacement parts, repair, replacement of the defective component or replacement of the product.
Most Separett products are designed so that many parts can be replaced by the customer using instructions provided by Separett. If Separett determines that a service technician is not required, Separett may provide replacement parts and instructions instead of arranging service.
If Separett determines that repair by Separett or an authorised service partner is required, the repair will be carried out within a reasonable time. What is considered reasonable depends on the nature of the fault, the customer’s need for the product, spare part availability, service partner availability and other relevant circumstances.
9. Costs covered by the warranty
If the claim is approved under warranty, Separett covers the cost of the approved warranty remedy as decided by Separett.
This may include required parts and repair work, provided that the work is carried out by Separett or by an authorised service partner appointed by Separett.
Separett does not provide general on-site service. If warranty service is performed on site by special agreement, travel costs, call-out fees and related on-site costs are normally paid by the customer unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If the product must be sent to Separett or to an authorised service partner, the customer must follow Separett’s transport instructions. Transport costs and transport risk are handled according to Separett’s instructions and applicable law.
10. What the warranty does not cover
The warranty does not cover:
- normal wear and tear
- normal corrosion
- cosmetic defects, surface marks or finish changes that do not affect product function
- consumables or parts intended to be replaced during normal use, unless otherwise stated
- damage caused by incorrect installation, assembly or connection
- damage caused by improper use, misuse, neglect or lack of normal care
- damage caused by use outside the product’s intended purpose or recommended capacity
- damage caused by lack of service or maintenance according to Separett’s instructions
- damage caused by continued use after a fault has been discovered
- damage caused by unauthorised modification, repair or service
- damage caused by the use of non-original parts or non-approved accessories
- damage caused by external events such as lightning, power surges, fire, flooding, freezing, extreme weather, pests, vandalism or accidents
-
damage caused by abnormal external influence;
transport damage - installation costs, removal costs, reinstallation costs, troubleshooting by third parties or other costs not approved in advance by Separett
- products used in rental operations
- products where the purchase cannot be verified with valid proof of purchase.
11. Transport damage
Transport damage is not covered by the product warranty.
If the product or packaging is damaged during delivery, please report this according to our Shipping Policy as soon as possible after receiving the delivery.
Please keep the product and packaging until Separett or the carrier has assessed the matter.
12. Products outside warranty
If Separett determines that a fault is not covered by warranty, Separett may offer a cost estimate for repair, replacement parts or other corrective action.
No paid repair, replacement or service will be carried out without your approval.
If a product has been sent to Separett or to an authorised service partner and the fault is not covered by warranty, the customer may be responsible for inspection costs, return shipping or other costs, where permitted by applicable law and communicated in advance.
13. Business and commercial use
If a product is used in commercial operations, the warranty period is 1 year from the original delivery date, regardless of product type.
Commercial use includes use by companies, organisations, public bodies, institutions, campsites, rental properties, workplaces or other non-private settings.
Products used in any form of rental operation are not covered by warranty.
Additional or different terms may apply if agreed in writing with Separett.
14. Relationship to product manuals
The product manual, installation instructions, safety instructions and maintenance instructions form an important part of the warranty terms.
Failure to follow these instructions may affect warranty coverage if the failure caused or contributed to the fault.
Please keep the manual and purchase documentation for future reference.
15. Disputes
If a dispute arises, Separett and the customer should first try to resolve the matter by agreement.
Consumers may contact the relevant consumer advice or dispute resolution body in their country of residence.
In Sweden, consumers may contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes, Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN. Separett follows ARN’s recommendations where applicable.
For business customers, disputes shall be resolved according to the agreement between the parties. If no separate agreement applies, disputes shall be resolved under Swedish law.
