FAQ Villa

What are the older Villa models called today, and is there a replacement for models with a 110–230 V fan?

Villa 9000 and Villa 9200 previously had a 110–230 V fan, which is no longer manufactured. However, the fan can be replaced with a conversion kit.

The Villa 9010, 9210, 9215 and 9225 models are now called Villa.

The Villa 9020 and 9220 models are now called Villa Extend.

Can the ventilation from a Villa 9000 be connected to the drain vent?

We do not recommend this, as your drain vent should only vent your drain. If the ventilation pipe from the Villa 9000 is connected to it, you suddenly create a pressurised system that can push air backwards through your drain vent, with greater and negative consequences in your house as a result. For example, odours from the drain.

Can the fan on a Villa 9000 be changed to 12 V?

A Separett 9000 (230 V fan) can be converted to a Villa 9010 (12 V fan) by purchasing a conversion kit, item no. 1167-02.

It can be ordered via our webshop, or through one of our retailers if you prefer.

If you later want to connect it to a power outlet, it may be useful to know that a battery eliminator is included, which you can then use if you prefer mains power instead of a battery or solar panel.

Is the rubber cap located on the push button under the seat available as a spare part?

For several years now, we have used a different design for the push button: a solid-moulded blue push button.

If you have the version with the blue rubber cap, it is no longer available and is replaced by the new push button, item no. 10691-02.

The push button can be ordered via our webshop or through one of our retailers.

NOTE! If you have a transparent/yellow rubber cap, you will need to buy the complete Flap & Rotor Mech. 9000 service kit, item no. 10418-04.

Privacy screen on an approximately 10-year-old Villa is not working properly?

If the privacy screen is not working properly for various reasons, this is probably due to wear.

If the privacy screen does not return, the spring may have worn out and need to be replaced.

If it does not return to the correct position, the damper may have come loose.

If you have an older model of the Villa 9000 model (does not fit Villa 6000/6200), we recommend our flap and rotor mechanism service kit, which is available to purchase in our webshop.

What should I do if there is noise from a Villa toilet?

If there is noise from a Villa toilet, we recommend opening the blue fan housing where the fan is located and vacuuming it inside, as there may be insects and dust causing the fan to make noise. Also clean the fan blades carefully, for example with a toothbrush.

We also recommend checking the ventilation pipe to make sure nothing has become stuck there, as this can also create imbalance in the fan or cause it to stop completely.

Why has the seat height become lower on the Villa model compared with older models?

The seat height was changed because studies showed that this was the optimal height (seat height of the Villa models: 42 cm) for most people to hit the urine bowl correctly and urinate forwards, thereby avoiding the urine being directed backwards instead.

How often does a Villa toilet need to be emptied?

The urine, which accounts for approximately 85% of the waste, is separated directly, which increases the capacity and reduces the need for emptying. The toilet can handle high usage, as it is easy to change the container when needed. With normal use in a household of 4 people, the latrine container needs to be changed/emptied every 4–6 weeks.

Normally, in holiday homes, 2–3 containers are sufficient for one season. A pedal bin for toilet paper used for urine makes the container last longer.

Can the ventilation pipe be extended for a Villa 9010 with a 12 V fan?

The ventilation pipes can be extended, for example with our item 1020-03, which consists of 2 x 1 m pipes Ø75 mm, 2 x straight connecting pipes, and wall brackets.

What you need to bear in mind when you have a Villa 9010 with a 12 V fan is that we recommend using a maximum of 2 x 90° bends and 4 m of ventilation pipe.
