Our work in China
Today, most people in rural China live with a hole in the ground as their toilet solution. Eliminating the unsanitary and dangerous latrines in China’s rural areas is a government objective, encouraged through government subsidies. All households in a village need to agree to upgrade their toilet solution in order to receive government support for this, with the subsidy then provided per family wishing to install a toilet.
We have delivered 2,000 toilets since autumn 2019. Hundreds of families in Shanxi Province, northern China, have now installed a Separett Villa in their homes.
In 2019, Separett’s then CEO Mikael and Deputy CEO Jyri visited some families in China who had installed the first toilets. The images below were taken in the village of Yingzhuang, where every family has a Separett Villa. Knowing that our products make everyday life more comfortable for these families makes us incredibly happy.
