Build your own outhouse
Share
The great advantage of building a new outhouse is the freedom to choose from a wide range of modern, waterless and odour-free toilet options. Newer toilets are also easy to install, as some models include a ventilation pipe and fan to improve ventilation. This is the case, for example, with our modern incinerating toilets.
Build your own outhouse
Before starting construction, it is important to familiarise yourself with the regulations. Although building an outhouse without a building permit is generally allowed, you should check with your local environmental authority to make sure there are no restrictions in your area, for example regarding the installation or use of a specific type of toilet.
Once you have received the necessary approvals, you can start building your Separett outhouse.
Building an outhouse is not particularly difficult, and it can be a fun project for the whole family. You can either buy a ready-made outhouse building or design a modern outhouse yourself.
Outhouse building instructions
Here is how to get started with building a simple outhouse.
Step 1: Foundation work
Start by preparing the foundation. The simplest way is to build a frame from pressure-treated wood. Two support beams are screwed inside the frame to support the floor.

Step 2: Walls
The walls of the outhouse consist of frames and vertical wooden panels. First, cut all the crosspieces and screw them together with strong screws.

Step 3: Door
The easiest way to build the door is with ready-cut timber. The support beams are arranged in a Z-shaped structure.

Step 4: Roof
Once the walls are in place, install the roof. The roof is also built using ready-cut timber.

Step 5: Details
The final step is painting and decorating. You can add decorations and install a latch on the inside.

Note: Separett’s warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation.
