Camp Kiattua in Greenland

In Nuuk Fjord, approximately 80 kilometres from Nuuk, lies Camp Kiattua – a camping hotel surrounded by incredible and untouched nature.
Kiattua means “warm place” in the Inuit language. The name is fitting, as this unique destination warms both body and soul. Camp Kiattua is only accessible by boat or helicopter, making the experience even more special.

The rugged landscapes will carry your thoughts away and make you wish you were there yourself. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, go hiking, fish and return to your tent at the end of the day. Light a fire, listen to the silence and let nature entertain you.

Camp Kiattua consists of one main tent, six sleeping tents, six toilet tents and two sauna tents. Each tipi offers plenty of space – you can stand up inside the tents, and they are equipped with beds, chairs, a table and a wood-burning stove for heating.
And now, perhaps the best part: Camp Kiattua’s toilet solutions. Our friends Arne Backlund and Backlund Ecology have supplied all the Separett dry toilets used at the camp. The toilets run on 12 V power and provide comfort even in demanding conditions – while respecting the environment.

The toilet tents also offer hot showers with fresh mountain water. In addition, you can relax in a warm bath in the area’s hot tub and admire the landscape – ice fields, waterfalls and surrounding mountains.

The surrounding mountains are among the oldest in the world – up to 3.8 billion years old. The only sign of early human presence in the area is a number of 800-year-old Viking ruins.
