Separett® Nova is an incineration toilet that effectively burns toilet waste at a temperature of 550°C. The ash container, where both urine and solid waste are collected, is heated using a heating element. During the process, liquids are evaporated while solids are incinerated. The heating time is automatically adjusted based on the amount of waste and liquid in the bag. It is essential that only urine, solid waste, and toilet paper are incinerated in the toilet.

During incineration, a fan draws air through the combustion chamber, supplying oxygen to the burn process and ensuring that smoke and hot air are vented out through the exhaust pipe. This contributes to an efficient and odor-free experience. The clean ash that remains after incineration can be used as a nutrient-rich additive in the garden.

Important! The toilet must remain powered on as long as it is connected to the ventilation pipe. The fan plays a crucial role in preventing moisture from entering the toilet and in stopping cold air drafts. If the power is turned off, the toilet must be disconnected from the exhaust pipe, and the pipe should be sealed to prevent moisture from entering the space where the toilet is located.

Design & Technology

The toilet is designed to handle 4–6 uses per hour and up to 40 uses per day. After a series of flushes, a 45-minute pause is required for the container to regain full capacity.

The intelligent incineration technology automatically adjusts the cycle time between 2 and 3 hours depending on the fluid level, ensuring that only clean ash remains. Once the incineration process is complete, the toilet cools down and shuts off automatically—ensuring a smooth and virtually maintenance-free user experience.

Thanks to its advanced software, Nova manages its operation autonomously. It continuously monitors the system and notifies you well in advance when maintenance is required, letting you focus on other things without worrying about technical details.

Energy Consumption

Nova is engineered for energy efficiency without compromising on performance. An optimized airflow in the flue pipe reduces energy consumption and supports more sustainable operation. Each use consumes only 1.8–2.0 kWh, and the toilet operates on 230 volts—making it both powerful and economical.

In standby mode, energy usage is as low as 0.4 Wh. The fan runs continuously to ensure proper ventilation and odor-free operation with minimal energy impact.

Follow these simple steps to ensure smooth and efficient use of your incineration toilet:

Using the Toilet

1. Lift the lid

2. Place a disposable incineration bag

3. Always sit down when using the toilet

4. Close the lid

5. Press the “small” flush button for liquids or the “large” flush button for solid waste. The program will start automatically.

The toilet is designed to handle up to 4–6 flushes per hour and 40 flushes within a 24-hour period. After a series of uses, a 45-minute pause is required for the container to regain full capacity. Following these steps ensures proper use and optimal performance of the incineration process.

Please make sure to always follow our guidelines and recommendations when installing your incineration toilet. Before purchasing the toilet, ensure that installation can be carried out in accordance with the specified requirements. If specific adjustments or deviations from these guidelines are necessary, the product should not be purchased.

General Cleaning

Wipe the toilet both inside and outside using a non-abrasive cleaning agent, as abrasive products or scouring pads may cause scratches. For best results, use a lightly dampened or well-wrung cloth with a small amount of all-purpose cleaner.

Do not rinse the toilet with water, either inside or out, as this can damage the combustion chamber and control board.

Emptying the Ash Container

The toilet will automatically remind you to empty the ash container, typically after around 50 uses. When it’s time, follow these steps:

1. Press the front hatch down toward the floor and pull it toward you

2. Slide out the ash container

3. Empty the ash into the trash or garden bed (the ash is completely free of bacteria)

4. Push the ash container all the way back in

5. Reattach the front hatch by pressing it down toward the floor while sliding it into place

Once these steps are completed, the ash container is emptied and the toilet is ready for use again.

Cleaning the Ash Container

The ash container should be cleaned after four emptyings. A notification will also appear on the display. This cleaning helps remove crystals formed when urine evaporates during incineration and ensures the interior of the toilet stays clean through steam exposure. Follow these steps:

1. Remove the ash container and empty its contents

2. Pour 1 liter of water into the ash container

3. Place the ash container back into the toilet

4. Start the large program

This process completes the cleaning cycle of the ash container.
