Using the Toilet

1. Lift the lid

2. Place a disposable incineration bag

3. Always sit down when using the toilet

4. Close the lid

5. Press the “small” flush button for liquids or the “large” flush button for solid waste. The program will start automatically.

The toilet is designed to handle up to 4–6 flushes per hour and 40 flushes within a 24-hour period. After a series of uses, a 45-minute pause is required for the container to regain full capacity. Following these steps ensures proper use and optimal performance of the incineration process.

Design and Technology

Separett Nova II combines sleek design with advanced technology to provide a comfortable and functional toilet experience. The new generation Nova II has been developed especially for year-round use, where proper control of airflow is particularly important.

Nova II operates with a closed air system. This means the toilet draws the air required for the combustion process directly from outside instead of using room air. This solution prevents indoor air from cooling down in winter or warming up in summer due to the airflow required by the toilet. Thanks to the closed air system, Nova II can also be installed in spaces with mechanical ventilation.

The toilet is designed to handle 4–6 uses per hour and up to 40 uses per day.

The intelligent combustion technology automatically adjusts the burn time according to the amount of liquid and ensures that only clean ash remains. When the combustion program is complete, the toilet cools down and shuts off automatically, enabling simple and nearly maintenance-free operation.

Thanks to advanced software, Nova II manages its operation independently. It monitors the system status and notifies the user in time if any actions are required, allowing you to focus on other things.

Features

Separett Nova II offers a comfortable and modern toilet experience. The toilet seat is equipped with a soft-close function and the “flush” is electrically operated. By pressing the combustion button, the waste automatically drops into the combustion chamber and the combustion program starts. If necessary, the hatch can also be opened manually by holding the OK button down.

The informative and easy-to-use display allows the user to manage settings such as language and combustion time. The display also notifies the user when the ash container needs to be emptied or when service is required, making operation and maintenance simple.

Optimized airflow together with the integrated catalyst ensures that the space remains odor-free during and after the combustion process.

Energy Consumption

Nova II is designed to be energy efficient without compromising performance. The optimized airflow reduces energy consumption and supports sustainable use. One use consumes only about 1.8–2.0 kWh of electricity, and the toilet operates on 230 volts, making it both efficient and economical.

In standby mode, energy consumption is approximately 0.4 kWh per day. The fan runs continuously to ensure proper ventilation and odor-free operation with minimal energy use.

Separett® Nova II is an incineration toilet that effectively burns toilet waste at a temperature of 550°C. The ash container, where both urine and solid waste are collected, is heated using a heating element. During the process, liquids are evaporated while solids are incinerated. The heating time is automatically adjusted based on the amount of waste and liquid in the bag. It is essential that only urine, solid waste, and toilet paper are incinerated in the toilet.

During incineration, a fan draws air through the combustion chamber, supplying oxygen to the burn process and ensuring that smoke and hot air are vented out through the exhaust pipe. This contributes to an efficient and odor-free experience. The clean ash that remains after incineration can be used as a nutrient-rich additive in the garden.

Important! The toilet must remain powered on as long as it is connected to the ventilation pipes. The fan plays a crucial role in preventing moisture from entering the toilet and in stopping cold air drafts. If the power is turned off, the toilet must be disconnected from the ventilation duct, and the ducts should be sealed to prevent moisture from entering the space where the toilet is located.

General cleaning

Wipe the inside and outside of the toilet with a non-abrasive cleaning agent, as abrasive products may cause scratches. For best results, use a slightly damp or well-wrung cloth with a small amount of all-purpose cleaner. Do not rinse the toilet with water, either on the outside or the inside. This may damage the combustion chamber or the control panel.

Emptying the ash container

The toilet will automatically remind you when the ash container needs to be emptied, usually after about 50 uses. When it is time, follow these steps:

1. Pull the front panel down toward the floor and then toward you
2. Pull out the ash container
3. Dispose of the ash in a flower bed or with household waste (the ash is completely bacteria-free)
4. Push the ash container back into place
5. Reinstall the front panel by pressing it down toward the floor while sliding it back in

After completing these steps, the toilet is ready to use again.

Cleaning the ash container

The ash container should be cleaned after every fourth emptying, and the display will also notify you when this is needed. Cleaning is necessary to remove crystals that form when urine evaporates during the combustion process. At the same time, the steam helps clean the inside of the toilet.

Follow these steps:

1. Empty the ash container
2. Pour 1 liter of water into the ash container
3. Place the ash container back in position
4. Start the large combustion program
